Lie 1) Promises a better life just by watching the DVD. Romans 8:2 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

Lie 2) You can change what you don't like about your life through "The law of attraction" 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Lie 3) Man can learn to cope with and overcome any and all obstacles by going forth into the "Infinite Mind" Phillipians 1:27 27 Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.

Lie 4) There's a law in the universe that says whatever we focus on will expand. Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Psalm 47:7-9 For God is the King of all the earth;sing praises with a psalm! 8 God reigns over the nations;God sits on his holy throne.9 The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God;he is highly exalted!

lie 1) Authorship of the Scriptures- Brian McLaren ( chair of the board of directors for Emergent Village) who states, "Scripture is something God had 'let be,' and so it is at once God's creation and the creation of the dozens of people and communities and cultures who produced it" (McLaren, p. 162 Generous Orthodoxy, (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2004) 2 Timothy 3:16-17 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God [2] may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Lie 2)Only Way- Need of a new way to communicate the gospel At the heart of the “movement”—or as some of its leaders prefer to call it, the “conversation”—lies the conviction that changes in the culture signal that a new church is “emerging.” Christian leaders must therefore adapt to this emerging church. Lie 4) Chanting, centering prayer, mantra's, labyrinth experiences, and other spiritual practices of many eastern religions are a means to experience God more fully. Deuteronomy 18:10b-14 anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer 11 or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, 12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, 14 for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.


Lie 5)Salvation- Emergent church leader,speaker,and writerTony Campolo’s belief that you can be born again by experiencing a “oneness with God” while embracing the teachings of Ignatius Loyola the founder of the Jesuits. Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
